Mr. Prabodhkant Pandya Sir (1944 - 2021) !!...

A distinguished social worker, educationalist, philanthropist, and politician. His contributions to society and education have left a lasting impact.

Political Career:

In 1985, he joined the Janata Party, later moving to the Janata Dal from 1990 to 1995. From 2002 to 2007, he served as a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly for the Santrampur constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member. He was the Minister of State for Home and Education in the Chimanbhai Patel government.

Leadership Roles:

Chairman of the Planning Board of Panchmahal district for five years, where he oversaw major development projects. Vice Chairman of the Panchmahal District Cooperative Union for five years, playing a key role in cooperative board decisions. Managing Director of Panchmahal District Co-operative Bank for three years.

Educational Contributions:

As Education Minister, he sanctioned colleges in small, underserved villages such as Malvan, Munpur, and Limkheda.

  • Founded Meghdoot Education Trust in 1970, which has grown to include numerous educational institutions.
  • Meghdoot Vidyavihar in Maninagar, Ahmedabad for Primary, secondary, and higher secondary education. (established in 2001)
  • P.D. Pandya Education Campus in 1992.
  • Gangaba Primary School (classes 1 to 8). (established in 1992)
  • New Meghdoot Vidyavihar (secondary and higher secondary education, commerce, science, and vocational studies). (established in 1992)
  • P.D. Pandya Mahila Commerce College. English and Gujarati Medium (B.Com. for women and M.Com for both men and women).
  • P.D. Pandya Institute of Computer Application – BCA College (established in 2001).
  • Saraswati Stree Adhyapan Mandir (D.El.Ed. College, established in 2002).
  • H.A. Pandya English School (classes 1 to 12, commerce and science streams).
  • Bachpan-A Play School (Nursery to K.G. in English medium).
  • Academic Heights Public School (classes 1 to 12, CBSE curriculum).
  • Horizon English School (classes 1 to 12, English medium).

Community and Cultural Contributions:

Worked on the development of the Nadinath Mahadev Temple in Kadana Taluka, Gujarat. Supervised various examination centers like GPSC, UPSC, CA, and CS, achieving numerous political milestones. Efforts carried out for the development of Cottage Hospital at Santrampur.
